    Zap2It Interview

Carina MacKenzie of Zap2It sat down with Beau Mirchoff late September for an interview on Awkward.

Perhaps the most surprising thing about television in 2011 was MTV’s crop of scripted shows. Though some were more successful than others (the “Skins” vs. PTC battle ended ugly), one thing is for certain — “Awkward” is a definite win for the network, proving that you don’t need GTL for fantastic ratings.

The one-hour Season 1 finale airs tonight (Tuesday, Sept. 27) and, like all good teen TV shows, the whole thing comes to a climax at the school dance. Don’t miss the Zap2it Exclusive clip below, in which Jake (Brett Davern) unknowingly moves in on his best friend’s girl.

We spoke with series star Beau Mirchoff about what we can expect from Matty, Jake, and Jenna in the finale..

Collider Interview / Awkward. Season 1 Twists

Christina Radish at Collider interviewed Beau this past Tuesday on Awkward. and possible future goals in mind. The article features several stills from the series as well.

Some insightful information Beau reveals through the article are of a possible role in an up and coming film and more about his character in The Secret Life of Dorks.

MIRCHOFF: Yeah. I’m actually up for a couple things right now. I might be going to Detroit to shoot a movie. They’re very cool about that. When we’re not filming Awkward, they want us all working and getting better. They’re very helpful with that.

What is The Secret Lives of Dorks, and who do you play in that?

MIRCHOFF: That is very similar to Awkward, in a sense. It’s about this unpopular kid and his life in high school, and trying to find love. I play Clark, the bully who is actually a good guy. He just has a facade because he wants to be cool. That was a lot of fun. That was broader comedy and we got to improv a lot. We got a lot of input in the process, so that was very rewarding.

Hollywood Reporter sat down with Awkward. creator, Lauren Iungerich, early yesterday to talk about the season one finale’s twists and the second season currently being shot.
